Trans Lifeline is run by and for the community: All of us are trans people who understand the importance of removing the threat of police presence and forced psychiatric hospitalization from crisis hotlines. We’ve been divested from police since day one, providing peer-led support that honors callers’ autonomy, dignity, and choices.
We’re also advocating for safer crisis hotlines rooted in consent, and pushing for investment in community-based solutions so that we can create a more compassionate and equitable approach to mental health that prioritizes people’s well-being and dignity.
